Linocut Printing Experience at our Blended Monkey Studios - January 2026

The lovely group of students who attended today's linocut printing experience with our fabulous guest tutor, Sue Welfare, evidently had a great day. Everyone created wonderfully unique and individual designs featuring elements including hares, wildlife, ocean scenes, lighthouses, owls ... what a creative bunch!

Sue cheerfully and expertly guided everyone through all the stages of linocut printing. The morning was spent focusing on how to use the various cutting tools to create the desired marks in the lino. After lunch, the group enjoyed carving their final scenes into a new piece of lino and then learnt how to ink their carved designs and finally press them onto paper using one of the presses Sue brought with her.

The photos and videos here provide a great insight into the processes and the prints that were achieved during the day.

We kept the refreshments flowing, took lots of photos and provided a lovely lunch for this creative bunch, with all the bakes (vegan brownies, shortbread, cookies, "sausage" rolls and scrummy cheese scones) provided by the wonderful Fanoggins Bakery.
