Sunday 22 March 9.45 am – 4.00 pm

£100.00 including refreshments, lunch, all materials, use of equipment on the day, tutoring & certificate of completion.

This full-day group workshop with our guest artist and printmaker, Sue Welfare, is suitable for all skill levels - beginners and those who have some experience.

Create beautiful custom wrapping paper and prints on fabric - tote bags and tea towels are provided!

You will start off by working with a selection of commercial blocks, learning inking and printing techniques to create beautiful, custom wrapping paper. As the day progresses, you'll move on to printing on fabric.

You will also have the opportunity to design and carve your own printing block, which you can take home and use again and again.

During the session, you'll explore simple cutting techniques, what works well as a pattern and simple repeat patterns.

This FULL DAY BLOCK PRINTING WORKSHOP will be held in the peaceful setting of our Blended Monkey studios on the Cambridgeshire/Norfolk border.

Numbers are limited to ensure you get plenty of 1-2-1 tuition.

This lino printing experience is suitable for 16+.

Wear old clothes or bring an apron to protect yourself - printing can get messy.

Bring along any fabric or paper you'd like to experiment with (fabric should be natural, like cotton) and any ideas or inspiration you'd like to develop.

You also have the full use of the Blended Monkey gardens - so you can explore for inspiration there too!

About a week before your workshop date, we'll e-mail you again with more details about parking etc.

Refreshments will be provided throughout the day and also a lovely lunch - tailored to meet all dietary requirements.

All students will be provided with a certificate of completion.

This would make a fabulous CRAFTY GIFT for someone - so drop us a line and we can post out to you/the recipient a complimentary personalised gift certificate for this experience🎁

The full-day workshop includes:

- Materials & use of specialist equipment (blocks, inks & tools) on the day

"I am an artist and printmaker living in West Norfolk. After twenty-five years writing professionally, with a career in both romantic and crime fiction, I embarked on a second career as an artist, originally working with mosaic, glass, papercuts and textiles before developing my love of printmaking.

Self-taught, I now work primarily with lino, as well as exploring block printing, and creating pop-up cards and books. I am particularly fond of the technical challenges that printmaking and paper engineering present and love the colour and texture of the raw materials as well as drawing and creating the end products.

There is a joy in creating which is as important as the finished item. A great deal of my inspiration is drawn from nature - my garden, the beach, walking in the woods, and my pets, as well as the general chaos of domestic life."
