Today's leatherwork - carving & tooling - experience taught by the talented Tony from Fatbob Crafts and accompanied by is lovely wife, Soraya, has been a great success! Each student has created a beautiful coaster and valet tray.
The morning started with everyone getting to grips with the nuances of how to cut leather and use a variety of tools to create shaded areas and texture. They traced their designs onto their coasters and produced lovely works of leather art.
After lunch, featuring bakery items made by Fanoggins Bakery, the group went on to design their valet trays using the techniques they'd learnt in the morning.
I kept popping in to take photos, and I was amazed at how much was being achieved and so quickly too. Watching the students using their bevelling tools and mallets to create texture in the leather was quite therapeutic too. It's another one of those workshops that I really want to attend myself in the future.
If you missed the chance to book on today's experience, the next leatherworking - carving & tooling - workshop here with Tony is listed below:

REVIEWS
“Tony is not just super talented in leatherwork skills but also incredibly artistic. He is very patient and took lots of time to share his knowledge and personalised ideas for each of our bespoke pieces.
It was a very informative day and also brilliant fun with a great group of people.
I’m still amazed that with Tony guidance and Soraya’s support and encouragement we were able to create such beautiful pieces - a massive thank you to them both, I would highly recommend ☺️.“
