Our guest tutor and stone mason, Mark Evans, came to us for another fab fabulous stone carving experience here in the Blended Monkey outdoor covered studio today. This workshop focused on the relief carving of florals & foliage into a slab of Portland stone.
We kept the group fuelled with teas, coffees and yummy home-baked treats, and everyone also enjoyed lunch (featuring bakes courtesy of Fanoggins Bakery) in the Blended Monkey kitchen.
Check out the photos & videos below - everyone created some truly wonderful pieces - and all in just one day!

“This was my third stone carving workshop at Blended Monkey with tutor Mark Evans and once again I had a fantastic day with great tuition and in wonderful company. Louise and Simon are super hosts, always warm and welcoming and we are all
made to feel very much at home. As always we were very well looked after with tea, biscuits and homemade cakes being offered to us at regular intervals throughout the day as well as being provided with a delicious lunch. The homemade chocolate chip cookies are always to die for! At the end of the day I proudly took home my finished stone carving which I will always love and treasure. Thank you Louise, Simon and Mark.”

"Spent the day stone carving at Blended Monkey. There was a warm welcome from Louise and Simon. After an introduction to our instructor for the day, Mark Evans who explained what we were going to do, the seven of us on the course set to, and the chipping sound was a delight to hear. Louise brought us out refreshments including chocolate brownies and kept us full of tea and coffee. At lunchtime, Simon instructed us to down tools and follow him to the kitchen where a wonderful lunch awaited us. We continued chipping away for the rest of the afternoon and all ended up with an extremely good looking flower or leaf. My shoulders and neck were aching at the end of the day, but it was well worth it. A brilliant day! Thank you for the seamless organisation and warm, friendly hospitality."

"Thank you for a wonderful day of Stone Carving. The teaching was brilliant, the group friendly and the lunch and refreshments throughout the day were delicious. Really pleased with the leaf I carved, and I suspect it won’t be too long before I sign up for another of your courses. Thank you for being such brilliant hosts."
