Mosaic Workshops in our Blended Monkey Studios - August 2026
Updated: Aug 25
It was lovely to welcome talented mosaic artist, Muni, to the Blended Monkey Studios & Gardens to teach her first mosaic workshops with us.
The morning session focussed on making mosaic coasters and shapes; the afternoon session had students decorating bee baths and rocks.
It was great to see the patterns and designs emerge throughout the workshops.
Muni started off by teaching each group how to cut their glass and "nibble" at the edges to create more sophisticated shapes. Muni provided a veritable sweet shop of differently textured mosaic pieces in a rainbow of colours.
Near the end of each session, Muni gave a grouting demonstration, as each student was provided with their own bag of grout to take home to use on their pieces once they are fully dry. It only takes a day or so for the glue to set, and then the students can grout their pieces so they are ready for indoor or outdoor use.
The photos here provide a brilliant insight into the workshops.
We kept the refreshments flowing - with all the bakes (shortbread and chocolate brownies) provided by the wonderful Fanoggins Bakery.
If you missed out on this fabulous workshop, Muni is returning to us later in the year for a full-day large trivet/mural workshop:

REVIEWS
"I had a wonderfully relaxed morning. Muni is a calm and engaging tutor happy to share her extensive knowledge. She patiently demonstrated the techniques and helped us consider our designs. We were encouraged to experiment and give it a go. I started with a simple design based on one of Muni’s examples then tried my own version of a more complex example she had brought. I think I have 2 lovely coasters but my wife thinks they should be hung up on the wall, she loves them.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Muni’s workshop to beginners or people with experience as she gives time to everyone and we could all work at our own pace.
A wonderful workshop. Thank you Muni and Blended Monkey."
