Our guest tutor, talented stone mason Mark Evans, taught another great stone carving experience here in the Blended Monkey outdoor covered studio today. The workshop focused on the relief carving of either a star, heart or flower into a slab of Portland stone.

“Wow! What a day! As a complete beginner at stone carving I’m amazed that I was able to take home a piece that I will be proud to put on display. Mark our tutor was a wealth of knowledge and made sure we all had enough time with him to turn out some really lovely work.

“This was my first stone carving workshop at Blended Monkey with tutor Mark Evans, and it was a brilliant day. Mark’s guidance is clear, patient and encouraging, and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly.
Louise and Simon are wonderful hosts. They look after everyone so thoughtfully, with plenty of tea, biscuits and homemade cakes throughout the day, along with a really tasty lunch.
