STONE CARVING - LEARN HOW TO CARVE A CLASSICAL LABYRINTH

Sunday 21 June 9.45 am – 4.00 pm

£130 including refreshments throughout & lunch, all materials, use of equipment on the day, handout to take home so you can recreate your labyrinth to any scale & tutoring.

This one day workshop with our guest stone mason, Mark Evans, will offer a fabulous introduction to stone as a material and to the hand tools used in carving.

Mark will provide a brief overview on how to set out a classical labyrinth, as found all over the world, in both 3 and 7 ring forms.

A handout provided at the end of the session will enable you to make one at any scale on a beach or in a garden - or in any medium.

Students will then cut a 3-ring classical labyrinth in Portland stone using traditional stone carving tools and techniques.

Beginners welcome as well as those with some experience.

This STONE CARVING - LEARN HOW TO CARVE A CLASSICAL LABYRINTH workshop is held in a dedicated covered, outside space in the peaceful setting of our Blended Monkey studios in the cottage gardens of our home on the Cambridgeshire/Norfolk border.

This experience can be enjoyed by a group of up to 7 people and you'll take away everything you make during the session.

The stone carving workshops are suitable for everyone (14+ accompanied by an adult). There is a degree of arm strength and the ability to stand for periods of time required - but chairs and stools are also provided.

This full-day group workshop includes refreshments throughout, materials, use of all the equipment, a handout, tutoring and also lunch.

About a week before your workshop date, we'll e-mail you again with more details about parking etc.

We also offer accommodation in the form of our Crafter's Retreat cabin subject to availability or we can advise of other local B&Bs.

Refreshments will be provided throughout the day, and a light, rustic farmhouse-style lunch is also included - tailored to meet all dietary requirements. Depending on the weather/time of year, lunch can be taken either out in the cottage garden or in our country kitchen which has a view over the garden.

This would make a wonderful CRAFTY GIFT for someone - so drop us a line and we can post out to you/the recipient a complimentary personalised gift certificate for this experience🎁

The 1-day workshop includes:

- All materials, use of tools and personal eye protection equipment.

- Refreshments (tea/coffee/soft drinks) and a light, rustic farmhouse-style lunch - catering to all dietary requirements.
