Stone Carving - Geometric Shapes - Experience at the Blended Monkey Studios - July 2026
Updated: Aug 3
Mark Evans, our guest tutor stonemason provided yet another wonderful stone carving workshop on Sunday here in the Blended Monkey outdoor covered studio. Mark provides a number of different stone carving workshops throughout the year; this particular one focuses on carving a geometric shape into a piece of Portland stone.
Our lovely group of students created the most beautiful hand-carved pieces - and all in just one day!
We kept the group supplied with refreshments throughout the day and also a lovely lunch with bakes courtesy of Fanoggins Bakery.
If you missed out on this fabulous experience, we have more stone carving workshops scheduled for this and next year.
Stone Carving - Relief Florals & Foliage - 30 August 2026
Stone Carving - Heart, Flower or Star - 13 September 2026
2027 dates will be on the website shortly

REVIEWS
"What a brilliant experience. Mark was an excellent tutor, hands on, but relaxed enough to steer you in the right direction and keep you on track. Starting out with just plain blocks of limestone, with little or no experience, 5 works of art appeared before the days end. It's a really rewarding day, the shoulders and arms ached a bit next day, but totally worth it.
Louise and Simon run their venture with enthusiasm and efficiency, nothing is too much trouble, refreshments and encouragement are on tap throughout the day, and the lunch was superb (even the vegan sausage rolls) 😁.
If you're thinking about a stone carving course here, I couldn't recommend it highly enough, just do it!
Thanks to everyone involved."
