Today's leatherwork - carving & tooling - belt pouch/bag - experience taught by the wonderfully talented Tony from Fatbob Crafts and accompanied by is lovely wife, Soraya, was another fabulous success!

Well done to everyone for embracing saddle stitching! It looked difficult and therapeutic in equal measure :-).

The morning started with Tony teaching everyone how to use the tools and understand how to create the pattern and cut the leather ready for stitching.

After lunch in our Blended Monkey kitchen, featuring some baked yummies from Fanoggins Bakery, the group went on to learn how to saddle stitch their bags.

I took lots of photos throughout the day, and even though some of the students will be completing their projects at home, we did have one student finish her bag - you can see the photos here. It's amazing how different each of the students' bags are. The varying shades of leather - including some very shiny black and amazing gold-coloured leather - really set each bag apart.
