Half-Day Festive Gonks Clay Sculpture Experience in the Blended Monkey Studios & Gardens - October 2026

This morning's half-day clay sculpture experience saw our small group create a fabulous collection of festive gonks - we had some lady "gonkettes" too!

Our talented guest tutor, sculptor and artist Aimee, guided the group through each step starting from a pinch pot and using various techniques to add personalisation to their festive friends.

Aimee also showed the group how to add coloured slips to their gonks; lending a lovely red colour to the hats and providing the beards with a white slip. One of our students also opted for blues and golds.


We kept refreshments flowing and provided the students with home-baked shortbread (courtesy of Fanoggins Bakery).


These fun gonks will now be left to dry slowly. They'll then be biscuit fired, provided with a shiny glaze on hats and lips (for the lady "gonkettes") and then high fired.

"What a wonderful, creative morning I have had, constructing 4 mischievous looking festive gonks. Our small group of 4 students, tutored by the very patient and knowledgeable Aimee, ensured we all created some very memorable little characters.
