Copper Foiling Glass Suncatcher Experience at our Blended Monkey Studios - March 2026

Today's morning & afternoon half-day copper foiled glass suncatcher workshops, taught by our fab guest tutors, Gina & Matt from Diamond Stars Glass, were very successful with everyone creating a beautiful foiled glass hanging ornament from scratch.

We had boats, birds & beautiful leaves!

Matt showed the students how to cut the glass, shape it on the grinding machine, apply the foil and then solder the pieces together. Each ornament was then provided with a chain and a sucker so they can be attached to a window.


As usual, we kept the group's creativity going by fuelling them with teas, coffees & plenty of tasty bakes courtesy of Fanoggins Bakery.


The great thing about working with copper foiled or leaded glass work is that the students can take their pieces home with them. No kiln firing required.
