Enamelling Experience at our Blended Monkey Studios - October 2025

The students who attended today's fabulous enamelling experience with our guest tutor, the lovely Kate Janssens, made some beautiful pieces - as you can see from the photos below.

Each student designed their own earrings and pendants; cutting out their shapes from the sheet copper using a vice and saw. The pieces were then decorated using finely powdered glass - and other media such as frit, millefiori beads & glass strands - that was sifted over the copper. The work was then fired individually in tiny kilns to the correct temperature so as to melt and fuse. The effects are beautiful and sometimes unexpected; but under Kate's guidance everyone has produced work to be proud of.
