Today's afternoon half-day copper foil glass suncatcher workshop, taught by our talented guest tutors, Gina & Matt from Diamond Stars Glass, was a great experience with everyone creating the most beautiful foiled glass hanging ornaments from scratch.

We saw butterflies, leaves, birds and mushrooms!

Matt showed the group how to score and cut the glass, shape it on the grinding machine, apply the foil and then solder the pieces together. Each ornament was then provided with a chain and a sucker so they could be attached to a window.

We kept the group's creativity fuelled with teas, coffees, home-baked shortbread & chocolate brownies courtesy of Fanoggins Bakery.

The great thing about a copper foil or leaded glass workshop is that the students can take their pieces home with them. No kiln firing required.

The photos and video provide a great insight into this creative experience.

If you couldn't get a place on this workshop, we have the following fab experiences scheduled for this year and the start of 2027:

Saturday 19 December - copper foiled Christmas decs

Sunday 24 January - copper foiled suncatchers

Saturday 13 February - copper foil love hearts
