Copper Foil Glass Ornament Experience at our Blended Monkey Studios - July 2026
Yesterday's morning & afternoon half-day copper foil glass suncatcher workshops, taught by our talented guest tutors, Gina & Matt from Diamond Stars Glass, were really successful with everyone creating a beautiful foiled glass hanging ornament from scratch.
Across the day we saw butterflies, leaves, boats and birds emerge!
Matt showed each group how to cut the glass, shape it on the grinding machine, apply the foil and then solder the pieces together. Each ornament was then provided with a chain and a sucker so they could be attached to a window.
As usual, we kept each of the group's creativity going by fuelling them with teas, coffees & plenty of tasty bakes courtesy of Fanoggins Bakery.
The great thing about a copper foil or leaded glass workshop is that the students can take their pieces home with them. No kiln firing required.
The photos here provide a fabulous insight into this creative experience.
If you couldn't get a place on this workshop, we have the following fab experiences scheduled for this year and plenty more coming your way in 2027:
Saturday 12 September - half-day copper foiled glass hanging ornaments
Saturday 19 December - copper foiled Christmas decs
