Block Printing Experience in our Blended Monkey Studios & Gardens - October 2026
We had a fabulously creative group of students attend today's block printing experience with our talented guest tutor artist & printmaker, Sue Welfare. This was our second block printing workshop taught by Sue and, as with all her workshops, everyone evidently had a great day, with each student creating the most beautiful block-printed papers, tea towels, tote bags, make-up bags, and one lady even brought along some baby grows to print on - which great success!
Again, we're massively impressed with the results.
The weather was mixed but in addition to our Crafts Studio the group were able to use our large covered outdoor workshop as a drying space, making great use of our Blended Monkey Studios & Gardens.
Sue expertly guided everyone through all the stages of block printing - it's evident that Sue really enjoys what she does and is a natural teacher.
In addition to the huge array of wonderful wooden blocks for the students to use, Sue also provided blank tea towels, Tote bags, make-up bags and paper for gift wrap. Students were given the opportunity to create their own foam blocks if they wished, and Gill made a fab bat block that she can take home and use again and again.

As usual, we kept the refreshments flowing; I took heaps of photos and videos, and we provided a lovely lunch for this creative bunch - with all the bakes (cinnamon cookies, chocolate orange shortbread, "no sausage" rolls and scrummy cheese scones) provided by the wonderful Fanoggins Bakery.
