A Change of Scenery - Lovely Walk in Shouldham Warren - October 2026

The month before and the few days after our Artisan Fayres are extra stressful (in the nicest possible way) as, in addition to our own woodturning and pottery experiences that Simon and I run, we also host numerous fabulous guest tutor experiences here in our Blended Monkey Studios & Gardens, and the Artisan Fayres take a lot of organising, communications & marketing.

We love our setting but it's also nice to have a change of scenery.

This is my favourite time of the year - I love all the autumnal colours - and one of the best places to experience them is at Shouldham Warren, which is just a brief drive from here.

After a morning of workshop prepping and admin, Simon and I headed off to Shouldham Warren. We haven't visited since they had the terrible fires there a few months back.

We enjoyed a wonderful walk through the woods, and breathed in the lovely crisp air.

It's definitely one of the best places to clear your head and enjoy the wonderful woodland scents.

Simon and I used to walk here a lot when we had our lovely dogs Nutmeg & Harry, so it can be a little bittersweet, but it's still a great place to go for a woodland walk even without four-legged friends.

We got caught in a rainstorm for the last 20 minutes or so, but the weather's been so mild it really didn't matter. Added to the fun of the walk.

Shouldham Warren is just up the road from Downham Market, so if you haven't had a chance to visit, it's well worth it. Stunning scenery - peace and quiet.
