Leatherwork - Tray & Coaster - Carving & Tooling - Experience in our Blended Monkey Studios & Gardens - October 2026
Today's leatherwork - carving & tooling - workshop taught by the talented Tony from Fatbob Crafts and accompanied by is lovely partner, Soraya, was another fabulous success! Each student has created the most beautiful coaster and tray!
The morning started with everyone getting to grips with how to cut leather and use a variety of tools to create shaded areas and texture. They traced their designs onto their coasters and by lunchtime they'd each produced a wonderful leather coaster using their acquired tooling and carving skills.
After lunch, featuring bakery items made by Fanoggins Bakery, the group went on to design their valet trays.
We took lots of photos, and I was once again amazed at how much was achieved and so quickly too. The students learnt how to use bevelling tools and mallets to create texture in the leather - such a therapeutic process.
