Today's half-day spoon carving experience taught by our very own Simon here in the Blended Monkey Studios & Gardens was great fun. Each of the group created their very own large serving spoons or spatulas or even "spoontulas".

Everyone embarked on their spoon carving journey after an introduction & lesson in how to use the hook tool and spoke shave, and fuelled with teas, coffees, brownies and coconut cookies courtesy of Fanoggins Bakery!

Simon was on hand throughout the morning to ensure everyone was happy using the tools and that each student would be leaving the experience with a spoon/spatula to be proud of.

I'm always amazed at how different each person's spoons look, despite the use of the same tools and the same sized blank of wood (in this case, cherry).
