Enamelling Experience at our Blended Monkey Studios - July 2025
Today's students who attended our enamelling experience with the talented Kate Janssens left the studios feeling very happy with what they'd achieved. As you can see from the photos, everyone made beautiful pieces.
Each student designed their very own jewellery/piece and then cut their shapes out from the sheet copper using a vice and saw. The pieces were then provided with decoration in the form of finely powdered glass - and other media such as frit, millefiori beads & glass strands - sifted over the copper. The work was then fired individually in tiny kilns to the correct temperature in order for the glass to melt and fuse. The effects are amazing and sometimes unexpected!
Kate expertly guided the students through each stage of the process.
