I held two ceramic Christmas decorations mini workshops today here in our cosy Blended Monkey Crafts Studio.

The two lovely groups of students enjoyed letting their creative juices run wild and making all sorts of Christmas decs from a slab of stoneware clay. Some even made their own light pulls following on from my template for making rustic bells.

Provided with plenty of stamps, cutters, mark-making equipment and the instructions to just have fun and enjoy this mindful session, I am so very impressed with the variety of lovely decorations that have been made.

Simba, as usual, made his presence known and we allowed him to sit in the studio with this morning's group for a while and observe in his usual regal fashion :-).

This 2-hour experience included several cups of tea and wonderfully tasty chocolate brownies - courtesy of Fanoggins Bakery.

Everything will now dry very slowly before being bisque fired in the kiln. The students will then be able to enjoy decorating their creations as they wish in the run-up to Christmas.

The photos here provide a good insight into the sessions. I'll be holding several of these next year too, so watch out for the dates on our website and socials.
