£50.00 including refreshments, all materials, use of equipment on the day & tutoring.
 
This half-day group workshop with our guest fibre artist, Danielle Green, is suitable for all skill levels. 
 
Design and make your own beautiful 100% merino purse. The purse is seamless and requires no sewing. Watch in amazement as you transform raw wool fibres into solid fabric with the power of your bare hands. You will be given a selection of colours and stunning embellishment fibres to experiment with.
 
Step-by-step guidance: learn each stage of the wet felting process; from laying out fibres to forming and fulling your felt as you create your own purse complete with silk and yarn embellishment so you can put your own artistic flair on a piece of wearable art.
 
Beginner friendly: no previous experience is necessary for this relaxed and friendly 3-hour session. However, if you have wet-felted before but wanted to try some new techniques such as incorporating inclusions into your felt or nuno-felting, this is a chance to take your skills further.
 
Dannielle will start the session with a brief introduction to the history and endless possibilities of wet felting.
You'll learn each stage of the wet felting process; from laying out fibres to forming and fulling your felt as you create your own purse complete with silk and yarn embellishment enabling you to add your own artistic flair.
 
This WET FELTING - 100% WOOL PURSE WORKSHOP will be held in the peaceful setting of our Blended Monkey studios on the Cambridgeshire/Norfolk border. 
 
Numbers are limited to ensure you get plenty of 1-2-1 tuition. 
 
This wet felting workshop is suitable for 16+. 
 
About a week before your workshop date, we'll e-mail you again with more details about parking etc.

Refreshments will be provided throughout the session - tailored to meet all dietary requirements.

The half-day workshop includes:
 
- Materials & use of equipment on the day
- Refreshments (tea/coffee/soft drinks/cake) - catering to all dietary requirements
- As we limit the number of people, you get to have some 1-2-1 tuition and the maximum benefit from a day with no distractions
 
The materials you will be working with include: bubble wrap, mesh, gorgeous merino and Corriedale wool and pure silk embellishment fibres, towels, rolling stick, soap and water.
 
 
We also offer accommodation in the form of our Crafter's Retreat cabin subject to availability or we can advise of other local B&Bs.

    • The purchaser of the workshop may cancel the workshop up to 2 weeks before the workshop date with a full refund.

    • If we need to cancel a workshop at short notice for reasons beyond our control, such as illness or mechanical breakdowns, the first option is to rearrange a mutually convenient date or receive a refund. In the event of cancellation for any reason, we are unable to reimburse travel, accommodation or any other expenses that you may incur in relation to the cancelled course.

    "My name is Dannielle Green. I am a marine biologist, originally from rural Australia, who discovered felting during lockdown 2020 and it has changed my life.

    I use my knowledge and love of the natural world to create 2D and 3D artworks but specialise in one-of-a-kind pieces of wearable art.

    I use sustainably sourced natural materials especially wool and silk fibres. Teaching others to felt is something I relish; I am inspired by the enthusiasm and creativity of my students."
