BESPOKE EMBOSSED METAL EASTER/SPRING DECORATIONS WORKSHOP

Friday 19 March 5.45 pm - 8.00 pm

£50 including refreshments, all materials and full tuition.

This relaxed two‑hour small‑group Friday evening workshop with our guest artist and metal sculptor, Aimee, is suitable for beginners and for anyone who enjoys exploring beautiful, tactile materials.

You’ll be creating a collection of elegant, fully handmade embossed metal Easter and spring decorations in gold and/or silver aluminium. Each piece will be approximately 8cm tall and can be displayed individually or combined into linear hanging pieces, grouped sets, bunting, or other creative arrangements.

Every decoration will be entirely bespoke — no two will ever be the same — making this a beautifully personal craft experience.

Working with thin, malleable gold and/or silver aluminium sheets, you’ll explore embossing and debossing techniques with a variety of tools to create crisp textures, raised details and refined surface patterns.

Each participant will receive three 15 x 15 cm metal sheets. You can make as many decorations from these within the session as you wish, and any unused metal can be taken home to continue crafting. Additional metal sheets and full embossing tool kits will be available to purchase during the workshop for anyone who wishes to keep developing their designs at home.

During the session, you'll attach wire hanging loops to your finished pieces. If you choose to string multiple decorations together, this will be done at home using your own preferred materials to best complement your space.

You'll be working with Aimee's original template collection, featuring a wide variety of spring and Easter motifs - including garden birds, prancing rabbits, Easter eggs, flowers, foliage and decorative lettering.

Aimee will guide you through selecting and combining motifs, personalising designs, and will demonstrate how shaping, texturing and thoughtful detailing can bring clarity and character to your creations.

"Creativity has always been part of what makes me me, and I don’t remember a time without it. My background spans fine art, mixed media and textiles, before I went on to gain a First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Design Crafts, specialising in sculptural ceramics — a journey that’s given me a diverse creative perspective.

I’ve developed a well‑practised, technical ceramic skill set that allows me to make almost anything; I love a challenge and I’m always creating something new. With a natural affinity for clay — my brain thinks in 3D — I’m particularly inspired by botanical forms and textures, animals (with a special interest in cats!) and playful character design. I love sharing my skills and supporting others as they bring their creative ideas to life. Clay is the ideal material for exploring possibilities: wonderfully malleable yet structurally strong, with limitless potential. Every piece is unique, taking on its own personality and carrying the unmistakable mark of its maker. Using traditional handbuilding techniques with a modern twist, I teach how to create structurally sound ceramic forms with care and intention. I believe technique supports creativity, and each piece deserves the time, attention and love needed to give it the best possible chance of surviving the kiln gods.

Throughout my workshops, I demonstrate and explain the key concepts behind a successful build, while encouraging playful experimentation and personal expression.

My sculptural work and ceramic workshops sit under my @aimeesculpts umbrella. You may also recognise me from @nachoandtikisstudio, which represents the mixed‑media and illustrative side of my creative practice.

I look forward to welcoming you into the studio and supporting you on your creative project."
