Ceramic Botanical Vases Workshop | Farmland Museum | Sun 11 October

£50.00Price

Sunday 11 October 10.00 am - 12.00 pm or 1.30 pm - 3.30 pm

£50 including free entry to the Farmland Museum & Denny Abbey, tea/coffee & biscuits, materials, use of equipment on the day, tutoring, firing & glazing of work in colour of choice.

Price includes the biscuit firing of all pieces and subsequent glazing in colours of your choice and final glaze firing – work can then be collected either from our Blended Monkey studios or from the Farmland Museum.

Suitable for beginners & 16+.

Enjoy a 2-hour workshop creating your own large (approximately 30-cm tall) botanical/own design/Christmas-themed vase using the slab and sprig method – you can bring along your own botanicals (grasses, flowers etc.) from your gardens or surroundings if you wish, but we will have enough for everyone in any case.

This method of making with clay uses rolled slabs which are cut to size, botanicals pressed in and then vases created using a former.

The pieces can be simple or elaborate. I will show you how to attach “sprigs” to the finished vases to create extra 3D effects if required.

Once dry, I will bisque fire the vases, glaze in your chosen colours and then glaze fire. You'll be notified when the vases are ready for collection.

The workshop is taking place in the education room at the Farmland Museum & Denny Abbey in Waterbeach near Cambridge.

Those opting for the morning session might want to take advantage of a tasty lunch in the Docky Box Tearoom after their workshop. Those choosing the afternoon session could arrive earlier and do the same thing before their workshop.

This would make a fabulous CRAFTY GIFT for someone - so drop us a line and we can post/email you/the recipient a complimentary personalised gift certificate for this experience🎁
