2-person one-day Woodturning Experience for Beginners

Learn woodturning in the peaceful setting of my workshop located in the cottage garden of our home on the Cambs/Norfolk border. 
 
The 1-day session is mainly aimed at those wanting to take their first steps into woodturning with the wish to create something on the lathe.
It's fun and informative!
The day can also be tailored to meet the requirements of those who are relatively new to woodturning and wish to gain some more insight.
Complete beginners will learn how to mount a piece of wood on the lathe. How to cut and shape the wood using gouges and other woodturning tools, and then how to finish the wood afterwards.​
The morning is usually spent getting to grips with spindle turning; creating something like a honey dibber, ornament, mushroom ...
After lunch, the afternoon is spent creating a beautiful bowl!
 
The full-day workshop includes:
- Materials, use of all the tools and personal protection equipment (eye protection/lung protection).
- Smocks and old shirts, but the student may wish to bring their own. If they already have some woodturning tools, they could bring these along too if they wish.
- Refreshments (tea/coffee/soft drinks and biscuits).
- Lunch (catering to all dietary requirements).
- One-to-one tuition/private tuition ensuring the student gets the maximum benefit from the experience with no distractions.
- All work can be taken home.
- Certificate of completion.
- Follow-up advice.
 
If you purchase a 2-person 1-day woodturning tuition session here, we´ll send you a gift voucher in the post which you can either use yourself or give to somebody else (we'll e-mail you to discuss details for the voucher once you've placed an order, as we can send you a personalised one).

And it can even be enjoyed by a parent and child.
 
Once you receive your gift voucher you (or whoever has been gifted the session) can contact us to arrange a suitable date.
 
Quantity

  • Booking, Cancellation & Refund Terms & Conditions

    • The workshop booking is valid for 1 year from the booking date – this simply means that the setting of the date for the workshop must be arranged within the validity period, however the workshop date could be outside of this validity period.

    • The purchaser of the workshop may cancel the workshop up to 2 weeks before the workshop date with a full refund.

    • Failure to attend the workshop on the day without sufficient notice will result in the workshop being cancelled and no refund will be issued.

    • If the participant of the workshop is unable to attend their workshop for good reason, a new workshop date must be set within 3 months of the cancellation of the original workshop booking – even if the agreed new date lies outside of the 3-month period. Failure to rebook within that period will result in the cancellation of the booking with no refund. If the participant does not attend the second amended date, the booking will be considered cancelled with no refund.

    • If we need to cancel a workshop at short notice for reasons beyond our control, such as illness or mechanical breakdowns, the first option is to rearrange a mutually convenient date or receive a refund. In the event of cancellation for any reason, we are unable to reimburse travel, accommodation or any other expenses that you may incur in relation to the cancelled course.
