The Taggart Tales — We Got Gold!
Updated: Sep 23, 2020
We recently received some amazing news — our workshops have won gold on craftcourses.com. We are really excited about this. It means a lot to get recognition for the hard work, dedication, and heart that we put into every single one of our workshops.
Speaking of workshops, we wanted to tell you a little bit about what you can expect from our “2 Crafts in 1 Day” workshop.
Let’s get into the details!
The 2 In 1 Crafts Workshop Day from Start to Finish
This is a relatively new string to our bow, but the students have been loving every bit of it — and so have we, of course!
So, what will your day look like? Take a peek:
You will start by being welcomed into our garden and led to Simon’s workshop. This is where you’ll spend the first half of the day — turning beautiful wooden pieces! Don’t worry, you are given plenty of guidance (and as much tea or coffee as you’d like). The time will go ridiculously quickly but at some point…
…it will be time to stop for lunch! If the weather is being kind, we’ll sit outside amongst the trees, but if not, we’ll eat in our country-style kitchen. Unless you have any allergies or intolerances (tell us in good time please so we can ensure you can eat a tasty, filling meal!), you will be enjoying a traditional farmhouse lunch. What more could you want after a hard morning’s work?
But the day doesn’t stop here!
Next, you’ll be spending time with me (Louise) in the pottery studio. So you can get used to the clay, we’ll begin our afternoon with a bit of hand building, making a pinch pot and also a few slab vases/pen pots before we move on to throwing at the wheel.
Sadly, the day will end at some point. You’ll be able to take your wooden pieces away with you on the day along with your certificates, but your clay makes can be collected or posted out to you after they’ve been glazed. Don’t worry, they won’t take too long!
There You Have It!
Don’t just take our word for it. We’ve been lucky enough to receive testimonials from some of our students; you can check them out here!
Until next time!
