The Taggart Tales — Our Return to Ely Market

Updated: Aug 26, 2020

Ah, Ely Crafts Market, it’s been a while!

As you know, coronavirus has really messed up a lot of stuff. For us, this also meant our Saturdays were no longer filled with the market spirit. We were just getting used to the end-of-week routine before the markets had to close. But now, they’re reopening!

On Saturday 11 July you can find Blended Monkey (us, obviously) and many others back to the market hustle.

Of course, there’s a lot of preparation that goes into this! Here’s what we’ve been doing to prepare for the big comeback:

1. We’ve been making a lot. While Simon and I have still been working our usual day jobs through the covid crisis, we knew we wanted to go back to the market with a bang. Hence why we’ve been in our studios more than in our home.

2. We’ve been working hard on social media; supporting other creators throughout the whole pandemic.

3. Finally, we did a complete run through of the stall. How do we do this we hear you ask? Well, we mark out the dimensions of the table with some tape on the floor. Then, we set up everything how we want it to look on the day. This way we can adapt and change things we’re not completely happy with so next Saturday’s setup will be as easy as 1,2,3!

Simon and I are really happy to be returning to Ely Markets on Saturday 11 July! We can’t wait to see all our stallholder friends and customers again

Roll on Saturday 11 July!

We offer unique handmade ceramic, wood and silk pieces
