Yesterday's full-day paper & scarf marbling experience taught by our lovely guest tutor, Anne Hickley, was a creative and relaxed affair. With Anne's expert guidance, each student made their own unique, beautiful marbled papers in the morning; moving on to creating a stunning marbled scarf in the afternoon.

Anne showed everyone how to replicate some of the traditional marbling patterns, and also demonstrated a wonderful tulip design. It was evident that the whole group was in awe of the process, and each student was totally absorbed by the techniques and the results.

We kept the group fuelled with refreshments (home-baked coconut cookies & chocolate brownies courtesy of Fanoggins Bakery) and also a tasty lunch to keep the creativity fuelled - you can't marble on an empty stomach ;-).

I took a lot of photos & have put together some videos (see below). This is such a beautiful, immersive experience.

The group were able to take home their large collection of stunning papers and the gorgeous scarves they had made, and I think we may see some of them return for Anne's half-day CERAMIC BAUBLE MARBLING experience on Sunday 22 November (AM and PM timings).

"Yesterday I found myself back at Blended Monkey (two consecutive Sundays spent there)!  Again, the hosting, teaching and company were all great.  When you step through the gate and arrive, it's another world - and one in which it is possible to switch off to everything else that is going on, just for a few precious hours.  I loved the marbling, taught by the very talented Anne Hickley.  It's addictive!  I am looking forward to finishing off my scarf (rinsing and ironing) and also to making some art with my marbled papers.  It was lovely to have so much time to 'play' and especially lovely to make a scarf that is unique.  A BIG thank you to everyone, including my fellow participants who were a very friendly group - great to meet you all.”
