Morning & Afternoon Fused Glass Dragonfly Experiences at our Blended Monkey Studios - March 2026

Yesterday's half-day fused glass experiences taught by our talented guest tutor, June Massey, were another great success, with each group creating beautiful large dragonflies and some hanging pieces.


The students learnt how to inlay pieces of dichroic glass in their dragonfly formers before choosing their main colours of glass frit to spoon into the moulds.


After creating their lovely large dragonflies, the students went on to make some more free-style hanging elements in their own designs.

June expertly guided the group through all the stages and I enjoyed popping in now and then to take photos - the different coloured glasses are so pretty!


We kept both groups fuelled with teas, coffees & yummy nibbles (courtesy of Fanoggins Bakery) - all that creativity is hungry work!


June has taken the work home with her to fire in her specialist fused glass kiln. The work will then be brought back to our studios and students will be able to collect their creations.

"I attended the fused glass workshop last Saturday morning (14th March), which was run by a lovely informative tutor called June. The little studio at Blended Monkey provided a casual and cosy setting. 6 of us attended the workshop and it was a friendly atmosphere. There was a great range of designs across the group, with fantastic coloured dragonflies and creative 'free-style' pieces.


We were provided with drinks, which we could choose from a menu with a great selection (especially flavoured teas!). We also had some tasty sweet treats to keep us going. Louise was very welcoming and kept popping in to make sure everyone was comfortable.


I can't wait to see how our glass creations have turned out!"
