Providing a fun, creative journal embellishing experience tutored by Zakiya from Fanoggins Crafts

It was lovely to return to the Hickathrift House Care Home in Marshland St James where this time we provided a fun journal embellishing workshop for some of the residents; with our guest tutor, Zakiya, from Fanoggins Crafts, showing everyone some interesting and easy techniques for collaging, printing, stamping & decorating their lovely journals.

As usual, we received a warm welcome from Kat, the activity leader, and a fab cup of tea.

The seven residents who joined in with the activity were accompanied by a number of residents who also came along to watch.

As well as being great fun, an experience like this encourages people to think openly and creatively. There is no right or wrong. It's also great for those who may not have as much dexterity or strength in their hands, as there are so many different options and techniques that are easy to adopt.

We can see from their Facebook post that the group enjoyed their session - as did we - and we look forward to returning in the new year with some different workshops.

Our woodturning, pottery and silk painting workshops on a 1-2-1 or pairs basis make great creative therapy experiences here in our Blended Monkey Crafts studios in Upwell.

We also host a huge range of guest tutor workshops, offering everything from fused glass to stone carving.
