Full-Day Spoon Carving Experience in our Blended Monkey Outdoor Studios - July 2025

Yesterday's full-day spoon carving experience taught by our very own Simon here in the Blended Monkey Outdoor Studios was great fun. Each student created their own large serving spoon or spatula - and Simon made a "spoontula" - yep, that's a thing!

We kept everyone plied with refreshments throughout the day and we provided a lovely lunch with tasty baked treats courtesy of Fanoggins Bakery.

Simon gave everyone an introduction & lesson in how to use the hook tool and spoke shave, and how to make the best cuts in the green wood. And our cat, Simba, made sure everyone was welcomed by his good self and kept a watchful eye on the proceedings :-).

Everyone soon got to grips with the tools and each student created a rather lovely large spoon to be proud of - with each one unique, despite starting off with the same sized blank of wood.
