Full-Day Fused Glass Experience - Creating Beautiful Cheese Boards, Serving Platters, Coasters and Dishes - at our Blended Monkey Studios - May 2026

Today's full-day fused glass experience taught by our talented guest tutor, the lovely June Massey, was another great success. Each student was able to choose between creating cheese boards, serving platters, coasters and dishes, and they've each come up with their own unique work with themes ranging from sheep to ocean scenes.
The students learnt various techniques used in glass work, namely how to cut glass and "nibble" it to get the right shapes. They were able to choose from a huge range of lovely glasses, frits and beads which were then arranged on their glass sections to depict anything they wished.
June expertly guided the group through all the stages, and as usual I popped in now and then to take lots of photos and see how everyone was getting on. Such a relaxing workshop!
As anyone who's attended our Blended Monkey Studios in the past will know, we always make sure creativity is fuelled with plenty of teas, coffees, and in this case freshly-baked Nutella brownies & shortbread (courtesy of Fanoggins Bakery) and also cookies suitable for our lactose- and gluten-free participants.
Not forgetting the lovely lunch we provide featuring more of Fanoggins Bakery's bakes and plenty of options for those with dietary requirements.
June has now taken the work home with her to fire in her specialist fused glass kiln. The creations will then be brought back to our studios, and students will be able to collect them by arrangement.
